The Naro is showing a locally produced independent movie, "Forgotten Stars" on October 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Naro Expanded Cinema along with "Mystic Motel", a short film by Richmond filmmaker Kevin Hershberger. Forgotten Stars is an independent comedy mockumentary produced in Hampton Roads. The film incorporates stock footage, interviews and clips from the career of ventriloquist Jerry Boyd (Terry Jernigan) and his partner, Delbert Schwartz. Their story mirrors the ups and downs so familiar to Hollywood fans, a story told time and again in the lives of Lewis and Martin or Abbott and Costello; it's made more remarkable because Jerry is a shy Midwesterner and Jerry is a street-wise Jewish articulated wooden doll.

It was filmed entirely in the Hampton Roads area and in locations like the American Theater in Hampton, Eliot's Fairgrounds, Relative Theory Records, The Page House Bed and Breakfast and Naro Expanded Video. First time filmmakers Richard Keel and James Shearer, both of Norfolk, Virginia, crafted an off-beat comedy that combines Ken Burns with "This Is Spinal Tap".
